Background & Experience
Always being the entrepreneur, after leaving University I set up a video production business with a friend from the same course. Our Midlands based video production agency specialised in ‘Promotional Videos for Corporate Clients’. In the peak of the DVD era we produced many promotions but also covered live events, video testimonials and training videos. Our statement was ‘Consider us as your company’s own video production department’.
The business soon grew attracting lots of PR. After expanding and moving offices from our incubator at Stafford Business Village to Wolverhampton Science Park we took on a client to produce a range of toy promos. The client was so impressed that the business was soon snapped up and integrated into the toy business. My business partner left to fulfill a life-long ambition of travelling the world and I stayed to head up the new video production department.
Over the following 8 years I produced bigger and more extravagant videos which many became internationally broadcasted. I would always have an on-set producer so that I could personally film the productions as DOP / Cameraman. This gave me great understanding of a huge range of equipment and production processes. Eventually I thought it was time to move on and left to become a full-time freelance cameraman. Now I enjoy shooting the huge variety of jobs and opportunities that being a camera operator brings.
